The self 2017.1 handbook interprets the expression 5 min: 6 min: 7 Max: 8 Max: 9 min: 10 Max: 11 as 5 min: (6 min: 7 Max: 8 Max: (9 min: 10 Max: 11)) (pgs 17-18) for the message min:Max. This strikes me as wrong - where's the Max: part for the message sent to 5? It seems to me that the interpretation should be 5 min: (6 min: 7 Max: 8) Max: (9 min: 10 Max: 11) or, to use indentation 5 min: 6 min: 7 Max: 8 Max: 9 min: 10 Max: 11 I understand that one likes to see a pleasing pile-up of parentheses at the end of right-associative expressions, so maybe the example could be 5 min: 6 Max: 7 min: 8 Max: 9 min: 10 Max: 11 min: 12 Max: 13 which equivalent to (if I'm understanding things correctly) 5 min: 6 Max: (7 min: 8 Max: (9 min: 10 Max: (11 min: 12 Max: 13)))

drawable and childResponsibility (specific question)

Itsnotgregg is becoming more and more ironic. I should change it to itsalwaysgregg. I'm exploring the graphics controls and it seems the geometry messages like arc etc. are eventually being sent to "drawable" which is then diverted to "childResponsibility" which is hard-wired as an error. I thought perhaps childResponsibility gets overwritten to somethjing else before the geometry messages get used but a "methods containing" search found nothing containing " childResponsibilty: ". what is the chain fo events when a graphics statement is used in "baseDrawOn"?

the life cycle of a block as told through its methods?

I want to understand and explain blocks by showing the methods in 'traits block' and any other significant outliners. The control methods pretty much make sense but what traits and methods would I start with to show where the arguments are stored and how an argument c is handled different than :c? Or would anyone suggest another trail of methods that would create a deep understanding of the block.
