It's been pretty quiet on this list, so I thought I'd start a
conversation to see if the list is working. Anyone doing any
interesting Self work?
I sidelined my VNC client in Self for a bit due to getting busy in my
day job but plan to get back to it soon and finish it off. It's pretty
close. The missing part is mostly key handling.
I'd like to tidy up my Android patches too and get them submitted so
at least Intel android would work out of the box.
What do people feel would make Self more viable as a fun project to hack on?
Is it possible to interrupt a UI action? I accidentally clicked
"implenters" on a slot named 'parent' and the UI froze for a long time
while it was computing. Can this be canceled in any way?
I also then clicked the 'expand' icon which took even longer and
eventually crashed, probably from an OOM.
On An Unbuntu 14.10 linux system I'm seeing a black rectangle instead
of a box showing text when 'userQuery' is used. This can be seen when
saving the image from the middle click menu in the GUI. The text that
usually displays that the image is being saved does not appear,
instead a black rectangle where it would be displayed is shown
It can also be shown with:
userQuery showEverybody: 'hello' While: [ times delay: 1000 ]
This is with the latest master from the Self git repository. Does
anyone else see this issue?
