You're right, it should be:

bootstrap read: 'ircBot' From: 'applications'.

If you then inspect 'globals', and look in 'applications' you should
see an 'ircBot'. Or 'Get it' from a shell:

globals ircBot copy

I just confirmed this on Linux.
