[Self-interest] Suggestions for cross platform build?

I saw ​this on HN recently, which might be helpful: https://github.com/marketplace/actions/cross-platform-action

GitHub has free Actions time for open-source repositories, so maybe this can used to build for platforms GitHub Actions doesn't natively support yet. Although what would be much nicer would be to be able to cross-compile without needing to use the OS itself.
