Can you try:

launchctl limit maxfiles 512 unlimited

The run these two commands again:

cd '/Users/greggarthurevansgmail.com/Desktop/self/'
'/Applications/Self
Control.app/Contents/Resources/Self.app/Contents/MacOS/Self'
-s 'morphic.snap'

If that doesn't work can you paste the result of:

ulimit -a
