beginner trying to run Self on Mac

Ok sorry but the new self control acts the same as the old. world does not pop up  after selecting a snap. I followed your directions and installed the  VM at /usr/local/bin/Self  and then tried to follow your directions in the terminal. sorry if i did it wrong. I thought I might reset and reload my OS with very good internet at work (its so new I don't have much saved) .
