Hi Josh,
I just came across your two days report of making an IRC client out of
the "ircBot" and had good results doing this after you. I used it like a
tutorial lesson and repeated your steps until I got the clue and added
some methods, buttons and a line input for IRC commands.
I attached a screenshot of mine ;)
