Dear List,
I've been following the list for a couple of year. I simply admire Self.

Smalltalk is far from being dead. There is a number of Smalltalk implementations used in many companies and many universities. I am personally involved in Pharo, a Smalltalk open source. The community is growing fast, very fast.It now includes a couple of hundred users, including many small and large companies Feel free to check pharo-project.org
The Smalltalk conference yearly organized by www.esug.org gathers about 50% more people than ecoop.
Cheers,
Alexandre
