This policy has been loosened for interpreters, although relatively few
people have taken advantage of this (MIT Scratch has not come back to
the app store, for instance, but there is a limited Scheme interpreter
and a C-64 Basic emulator, both previously banned).

But that doesn't help apps which attempt to generate executable code,
either through pre-comilation or JIT compilation, for the reasons
Michael points out.
